Glad to have found this group. Believe it or not I am 50 and am glad to be part of this group. I got my first tattoo about 5 years to Celebrate the life of my mother that passed. She is also my inspiration to get this weight off. She left this world way too soon. Her death certificate does not say she died of obestity, but the complications of her obesity, lead to her early death.

I celebrated by approval for my surgery with a butterfly that is flying away. I put it on my chest, so that everytime I look in the mirror, it reminds me of this gift and to make the most of it.

On a side note, not that I have the bug, I added another set of butterflies and flowers to represent my kids and grandkids. The reasons why I need to get my health back, so I can be a part of their lives for a long time!!

I've been thinking about this for awhile. I have become a slight tattoo addict, I have 5 so far. When I get to whatever my final goal may end up being, I'm going to get my back fully done in butterfly wings. Again with butterflies lol

November will be my 10 year anniversary of my diagnosis of MS. So to Celebrate 10 years of MS and my surgery I am getting a phoenix on my leg with the quote "Perfectly Flawed"

That will be added to my collection of 10 others and a sleeve. Going to sleeve out my lower leg with the phoenix. Rising from the ashes. ;)

when i got divorced in january, the first thing i did was go get a tattoo, lol

it is a phoenix on my left lower arm. it symbolizes the new me rising out of the ashes of my marriage. i rub it whenever i need a little encouragement. just looking at it makes me happy. i also have a dolphin on my left upper arm with my son's name on it.

i don't know what i'll do to commemorate my weight loss, hmmmmm i'll have to put some thought into it.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
