In a stall and FREAKING OUT!

Recommended Posts

I was sleeved on 12/19. I lost 26lbs relatively quickly, within the first two weeks. I haven't lost an OUNCE since 1/2. Does the stall eventually break for everyone? I just don't understand how I can be taking in SO little and not be losing! Especially compared to how I ate before surgery. So frustrated. Is it possible that 26lbs is all I will lose???

We are going through the same exact thing. No matter what I do, every time I step on scale it reads the same exact amount. So discouraged about Thursday's weigh in because of this. We have a long way to go. I did try uping my Water and Protein and did 30minutes at the gym last Friday and shed 2 more pounds from my initial stall. Maybe its more about regulating what you bring in and what you burn out for better results. I am in the trial and error stage so just like you, I am extremely frustrated. We all have that "maybe this surgery isn't going to work for me" feeling from time to time.. I know I do!

You have hit the inevitable 3 week stall. Read the link in my sig. It will help explain why. Don't worry about it. It will break on its own very soon. Most people go through this.

You are so right. I came across this article some time ago! Definitely helps me get through these rough weeks!

I've been stalled since 12/23 and it's getting very frustrating. Sleeved 12/10 and lost 16lbs that first week and a half. Then nothing.

My doctor told me it was because I was only doing about 700 calories....why I have not lost more....he told me to up my calories to about 1200 .....I was sleeved 12/17 and are down 15lbs post op ... anyone ever heard of uping your calories to stop a stall? I am getting on my Protein in Water in also....any ideas on this? also just joined a gym today..

My 'three week stall' hit at 2.5 weeks and didn't lose an ounce- the scale actually went up twice- for 2 weeks. Then I dropped 5lbs over night. Just try and keep your Protein high and keep your Fluid intake up and the scale will go. BTW- I had lost 26lbs when mine hit and I'm currently in another stall and have been since Christmas. It sucks- but it's all part of the process

I was sleeved 12/17, and after 10 days I stalled (the 26th) all the way until 1/7. Then suddenly the scale dropped 3 pounds.

SO YES, it can happen early out. Up your calories, Protein, and Water. Vary things and just ride it out. It can be frustrating, but it'll break when you least expect it

Also quite common. Especially after someone is more than a couple of weeks out, but everyone's body is different. Too few calories will put your body into starvation mode, according to some experts, and cause your body to fight to hang onto every ounce rather than losing. By upping your calories, you took your body out of that panic mode.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
