Three Months Out & Now the Real Work is Beginning

Recommended Posts

This is something that I struggle with on a continuous basis. I know that when I don't exercise, I have no energy. So now I'm making sure I walk on a daily basis even if it means going to the mall and fighting the looky lou's that stop suddenly which drives me crazy. But I have to do what I have to do. LOL..... I have not been using MFP in the past few weeks and will be getting back on track today. We can do this and will do it.... :)

I know this isn't easy, that is why knowing that we are all in it together makes it better! The support on this site is amazing!!!

Can someone please tell me what is MFP. Is it an app?

MFP is: www.myfitnesspal.com

It is a tool, where you may log your food and it breaks down protien, carbs, etc. (it does most of the work for you...you just have to log..)

You can also log your exersize.

It has its own forums, etc.

Check it out! I love this tool. Best of all...IT IS FREE!!!

I have a gym membership but never go! I do zumba on the Wii and Wii Fit for yoga. I also have a Jillian Michaels DVD that kicks my butt! I find I am more successful working out at home. Although I would love to get out of the house, I just don't have time!

I hate the word exercise with a passion. More then anyone here or anywhere. So I don't exercise. Of course it's showing now. So I am hoping to get to the gym in the new year (yeah right  ) but at least the umph is there . . . I understand the how to get to the gym when you work monday to friday 8 - 5, I get up at 6 to be at work at 8. There is NO way i would get to the gym in the morning. by 5 i'm beat, get home by 6:30pm have to start dinner etc, etc. . . whatever at least the thought was there right?

I agree with getting some videos. You could get in a good 30 min workout with a video and be done in the time it would take you just to go to/from the gym. While a gym membership is nice, when time is tight, it's not always feasible. Maybe you can hit the Y on the weekends?

Have you thought about home fitness videos? That way you can exercise in the comfort of your own home after work. You get some fab ones such as boxercise and Zumba as well as the traditional ones. Then you could possible use the gym at the weekends or on days off?

One thing I've learned that is helpful to remember is that exercising 10 minutes at a time 3 times a day counts as getting 30 minutes a day. Sometimes the thought of doing one big chunk of exercise a day is overwhelming or just not possible. I've also found that the Fitbit is a wonderful way to get motivated to get moving. I wish everyone the best on their journey. I'm revising from band to sleeve on January 17th and can't wait!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
