December 28th surgery date.

THis process has been such a long one. It started in January. I had my husbands insurance BCBS of Alabama. They do cover the surgery with 6 months of diet and excerice. You also have to have a 5 year weigh history of a Bmi over 40. So I did my 6 month of diet and excerice with tons of preop testing and even self paid for a psych eval and a EGD. We sent it to insurance and they denied me twice. My Bmi 5 years ago was a 39.8 not 40. I was so frustrated and upset. Then I told myself I'm going to get this surgery. I started looking into all the Mexican Doctors and places to have it done. My family was scared for me to go down there even though I did end up finding a good doctor there. I then came up with the idea of working full time instead of part time so that I could pick up Mercy insurance. So I did that and resubmitted to insurance they only require a 3 yr weight history. They said YES in one day. I still can't believe it's finally happening and Dr Roller was able to squeeze me this year so I don't have to repay my deductible. My surgery date is Dec 28th. So for everyone starting out on the journey. Don't give up if you want something bad enough you can always find a way

I was excited to see several people sharing the same surgery date as myself. Even though we are miles apart, I will have some comfort knowing that there are other people out there on Friday morning feeling the same anticipation and excitement as we start a new journey. Best wishes and positive thoughts to everyone as we move though the last few hours before surgery.

Tomorrow is the big day!!! I am 24 hours away from surgery and feeling both nervous and excited. I hope everyone else with surgery scheduled for December 28 has a blessed day (and a calm day).

My surgery is tomorrow too! The nerves are really setting in now but I know this is the right decision for me!! I am waiting on a phone call to find out exactly what time I have to check in in the morning. Good luck to all the 12/28 sleevers!!

Surgery tomorrow morning at 7:15 a.m. I am excited and nervous......Praying for others who are having surgery tomorrow. Prayers requested.....

Prepare to be miserable for 24-48 hours after that its smoothe sailing 72 hours after surgery I was doing 30min walks around my hotel climbing 3 or 4 flights of stairs at a time. Walking after surgery is very important to your recovery every time I went walking it got easier and easier. Good luck!

Hello all that will be going in tomorrow to be sleeved.... Yes I have been praying, listening to gospel music and meditating on the goodness of the Lord!! :) I got my call today, At first i was asked to be there at 4pm felt bummed a lil because i was thinking Dear Lord help me not eat anything 8 hrs before surgery and how would i make it w/o a Protein shake (lol) then i dozed off for a short nap and my phone vibrated I answered and the nurse called to tell me that my surgery had been moved up to 12pm \o/ Praise God is all i could say.... I just got back from the store. I purchased the gas-x, pepcid ac (maximum strength) and miralax. Im getting ready, i know and believe all will go well with everyone tomorrow including me!!! God has all of us

Be Blessed and Hugs to all :)
