    abdominal binder

Hi I am 11 months out and I wasn't given a binder but about week 2 or 3 I started wearing compression garments and still do till this day. Makes clothes fit better and hides some of the loose skin around the abdomen. I buy them at Ross, Marshall's or T.J Maxx..
  6. U can add different flavors . Mint extract and chocolate taste like girl scout cookie, chocolate and Peanut Butter taste like Reese PB cup. Try adding SF pudding mix. U can buy SF Torani syrup on line or Walmart but limited

Day 9 Post op and Hungry!

    It's to treat heart burn.
  9. I am 11 months post op and I still drink shakes. I like banana creme and add too milk, almond milk , oatmeal, yogurt, cereal. I started with a little bit at a time and I am up to a 1/2 a scoop. I do have chocolate, strawberry, double stuff cookie. I also drink isopure RTD I do mix with crystal light to make it taste better I add powder peanut butter, torani syrup, extracts like , orange, mint, or sf pudding pudding mix. Someone once mentioned they use the flavor packets for the frosting. I keep forgetting to buy so I can try them out. Not all protein powders taste bad..
  10. It does get better, remember you had major surgery, your body was and is going thru lots of changes. U r probably not getting all your vitamins and not eating very much. I had lots of trouble drinking water for the first 9 months but I never stopped trying to drink fluids. I am now able to drink 6-8 cups of plain water or mixed with some kind of powder mix. Start by walking and little by little you will get stronger. I used an app on my phone C25K to start walking jogging and then running. Don't be so hard on yourself and your body is needing the rest..

7 Months Post Op - The Cons - Drowning in clothes

I am at 11 months post op and I was buying at thrift stores, Ross and Marshall's I would buy very snug and within a week or two the clothes wld fit loose. It's true you should buy smaller clothes and show off your new body.

    Eating is complicated @4 weeks

Hi it does get better and even at 11 months and sometimes I eat a couple of bites and I feel full. You just have to keep on trying foods. If today it doesn't agree with you wait a week and try it again. I ate and still eat ground beef, ckn or tuna salad eggs , cottage cheese, cream cheese, Soups, shakes, shrimp, fish, i add Protein powder to my oatmeal, Cereal , yogurt. A couple of months ago I started eating more salads and fruit.

    For Distance Runners

Hope every one is injury free . Every one seems to be doing a great job.. It's getting very hot here in south Tx. At this race they handed out ice cold towels.. It was very helpful as it was getting hotter and humid. I ran my 2nd 10k this past saturday with a time of 1.11.31 a bit of improvement from my very first 10k. I made a huge NO NO I ran with some newtons they had for anyone to test out. NEVER EVER AGAIN.. I will stick to my merrell or new balance.. Since November 2012 I have ran 9 5 k's and 2 10k's. my next goal is a half in Dec or Feb.

    For Distance Runners

Hi I have being reading everyone's posts, looks like everyone is doing a fantastic job. I started running back in late sept early Oct. did my first 5k in Nov. I've done 9 5ks and today ran my first 10k. My official time (from web site) was 1:12:15 . I don't have anything to compare it to. So I guess I am going to say I DID A DAMN GOOD JOB,, I am training for a 1/2, I haven't registered for a race yet. My goal is to run a race or two every month. Something that did help me in this race and the last 5k I'd to run/walk/run, that was something I read when BTB mentioned it on MFP. I did improve my time in the last 5k and didn't get to exhausted in the 10k. I will continue to pop in and read your post. Thank you for all the advice and knowledge you share GOOD LUCK TO ANYONE THAT HAS A PENDING RACE
