Nausea after a fill?

Recommended Posts

I am scheduled for my first fill in two weeks. Post-op I had severe nausea and vomiting for 3 days and am wondering if I have more of the same in store for me after the fill. Has anyone else experienced this? The phenergan they gave me for post-op nausea was not helpful.

You may request a script for zofran - its much better then phenergan...

Very FEW of us have experienced nausea with a fill. Every now and then someone will say they had it - but not often!

Good luck!

I don't get nausea, but I do get tired followed by chills and fever. It doesn't start until about an hour after the fill and lasts for a few hours. I just plan my fill at the end of the day so I can go home and curl up on the couch for a few hours. Its over very fast and no other repercusions. Not very many have reported this side effect.

I had my first fill yesterday which was just two weeks after surgery. I felt (and still feel) so bad. I hurt like I have the flu and feel nauseaous. I thought it was because it was so soon after surgery but I am glad to see that this is not abnormal. I hope each fill gets better.

I just had my first fill yesterday too. It's been 6 weeks for me. I felt slight nausea this morning but I think it's becasue I was hungry. I have to do 48 hours of liquids after the fill. I've felt nothing else.

Within two hours of my first fill i felt like i had the flu and felt ill for two days - for me I think it was the nerves, process, the whole experience coupled with flying back to San Diego, traveling to Tijuana, and meeting up with my band sisters - just way too much excitement and aprehension. it's never happened since to that level but I do always feel a bit drained - i hate needles, etc. so it's always a bit taxing.

Just the idea of the needle going in alone makes me nauseous, but I do liquids for the next 24 hours and haven't had any actual nausea problems.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
