Im 2 months out.. now usually when im approaching that time of the month my appetite goes into overdrive. Today I was able to reach 600 calories, something I normally dont do. I know it becomes easier to tolerate more fluids, but does anyone else feel like that can eat more than normally post sleeve? I feel like I ate ENTIRELY too much today !!

I don't come anywhere close to what I ate pre-sleeve. I could go to the Chinese buffet and polish off three plates + desert and not even break a sweat. Now, I feel like I spend a LOT of my day eating, but not eating much. I eat tiny bits about 5 times a day, 100-150 calories at a go. Today I've eaten 4 times for about 63g Protein and a little over 500 calories.

I'm getting close to 3 months out and I notice that I'm able to eat much more than I could at 6 weeks out. But "a lot more" is really relative. Maybe a difference between 500 calories as my average to 650 calories as my average.

From about the 2 month mark till the 6 month mark I noticed an increase. Seems like everyone does, so yes perfectly normal.....and no, not stretched. 600 calories is still not much. It just means you're healing.

Thanks for those kind words. This thing can be so discouraging.

Totally, yes!

Also, TOM is still very relevant for many women postop. Many women post about fears related to binges (emotional eating memories) that are triggered at TOM. Women still deal with cravings and increase in calories for a few days of PMS. it can get slightly worse during rapid weight loss as you shed estrogens. It gets better. Own it. You'll do great! Good luck.

That is so true. I amaze myself at how much I can eat right before that time and how much I want to graze.

Your stomach is swollen for about 8 weeks. You will naturally be able to eat a little more once swelling goes down. No need to freak out, its not stretching. 600 cals a day is like 1/6 of what u eat pre op. Give yourself credit!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
