Ha ha ha I'm young and fat and really didn't like it. They want your pulse to get to 165. I lasted 12 minutes. sleep study is a pain but since I got my cpap machine (I've had mine for almost a year) and love it. It makes such a big difference. Dr Lewis (pulmonologist) is awesome. He cracks me up. Everything will be fine. Keep me posted

I will keep you posted. Dr Lewis is really nice. It probably won't take me 12 minutes. My heart picks up speed just thinking about it. Lol..... :D

Hi molliec. I am doing amazing. Down 46 pounds since 12/26. Back to work last week. Gotta get my energy and stamina back. Last Friday I was really tired after work and my top incision was hurting but took the weekend to relax and I'm doing good so far this week. About 3 hours of constant activity and I'm pooped... But so grateful for everything. How are you by the way...

Oh I'm so happy for you! That is awesome!!

I've only had my 1st apt w/Dr.Kirk and my 1st with the Psyc today. But I've got 6 different apt's over the next 3 weeks hoping to be able to have it done in March! lol *fingers crossed*

I really liked the psych lady. I wish she was in Tulsa. Would probably use her... Lol. There is a lot to do. Did your insurance make you do the 6 month diet? I

I have UHC and we don't have to do the 6 mth diet, but I also didn't get to use the Psyc there because of something with the insurance. I had to go to a lady in Tulsa, but she's pretty nice. I think they said everyone else will be at Bailey though.

They are pushing to get me in February, but I dont know if the cards are going to fall right, it may have to be the second week of march because of committments I have. They only do surgeries on tuesdays. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed though. Good luck with it guys! ! Nice to talk to you again.....

I am just Nervous Nellie! They will submit to UHC on Friday once I'm finished meeting with Dr Katsis. The requirements on my UHC is "documented diagnosis of MORBID obesity for 5 years". I wouldn't be considered "morbidly" obese all that time. My bmi's are 36.1, 39.1, 39.6, 40.9, 41.2. I'm sure hoping they don't give me trouble with my bmi not being over 40 for 5 years. Anyone else have to work around a requirement? What do you think my chances are of getting them to approve with this. I do have a diagnosis of sleep apnea, too. I feel about sick just worrying about it.

It will all work out. They should not give you too much trouble with BMi I would not think. Yeah Dr katsis does surgery on Tuesdays and Dr Varnell does them on Wednesday... Let me know what happens

I think you'll be ok too. I also have united healthcare and when I called them about coverage they told me morbid obese for 5 years or obese + a co-morbidity would be covered.

Thanks girls! I hope it works out. I have invested so much time in this, as has everyone else. Lol....I will know a surgery date Friday. I think it will probably be set for the 26th. I will go on the 2 week pre-op diet before i even know about insurance approval. Keep your fingers crossed for me. I will let you know!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
