Megs81 how did your surgery go? How are you feeling?

Surgery went great. Was in some pain the first couple of days. It is an adjustment but it is not too bad. They pretty much left me alone the first day but the 2nd day I was up and about a lot. Since being home I have been doing just fine. It is getting easier to get all of my liquids in. And I finally got the soreness out. Things seem to be going great

It's going. Lol.....I sent to the pulmomologist and psych eval this week. I go to the cardiologist tomorrow. But, then I don't have another appointment for almost 3 weeks. They should have my sleep study scheduled by friday. I have a second dietician appt, then the surgeon on Feb 8th. I hate having that much lull in my appts. I think that is alot of time to waste. I would like to know how long after the surgeon appt do they have surgery scheduled. How is it going with you? What appointments have you had so far? Good luck Mollie!! Oh, btw, I changed my screen name to oklafarmgal, but it's still me. lol.......

I was wondering the same thing! I haven't started any yet. : / I have the seminar on Monday and then my app with dr.kirk on Wednesday. I tried calling ahead to get some other appointments scheduled so I wouldn't have to wait so long (like you seem to be having to), but they wouldn't let me. : (

Did you see if they had a cancellation list they could put you on to get in faster? I'm going to try that. I have a job opportunity coming up in a couple months and really wanted to get this going faster than it seems to!

Yes. I emailed the girl that sets up appts and asked her to let me know if there is a cancellation. I sure hope there is. I just really have a feeling I will be into March before I can have surgery. That is really going to stink. I dont know how I can fit surgery into that month. The seminar is very informative. You will hopefully enjoy it. Plan on a long office wait on Wednesday. Dont be surprised if you have an hour wait to see him. But it's worth it. Good luck.

Well good luck with everything! I hope you get in before march too! Keep me updated on how everything is going. I've been a little addicted to this site...lol...but enjoy hearing the experiences from people using the same facilities as me more!

I saw my surgeon in October and I waited until January to have surgery because the sleeve was not covered by my insurance until then but usually everything happens pretty quickly

Yep. The treadmill test sucked but you can't avoid that. Do you have a surgery date yet

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
