5 weeks out & only 21 lbs down :(

Recommended Posts

Total since 11/2/12 I've lost 36 pounds. But since 11/7 I've only lost 21! :-( super bummed about it. Tomorrow is my post op follow up and I'm hoping to get the clearance to excercise. Has anyone experienced a stall once they went in soft foods? I'm totally bummed right now.

This is typically what happens. We get in a stall so that the inches can come off to catch up with the lost lbs......Don't worry, you will be losing lbs again really soon. You are so not done.........Be patient and enjoy the ride. Change old eating habits and recognize ways you might sabotage yourself later on. :)

Girl YES!! That is amazing! Pre-sleeve I would gain weight while I was trying to lose, so every pound gone made me super excited. LOL. Just do what you know you are supposed to do, and that weight will come off.

What was your pre-sleeve weight? I was sleeved a day before you and have lost only 4lbs more than you. I am also training for a half marathon and run every day so without clearance to exercise yet you are doing fantastic!! You don't want it to fall off overnight anyways .... less skin problems!! Be patient :)

I agree I think that's great!! Stay positive and be proud that you are loosing! I know sometimes we get caught up on the number and see others lose faster but I think you are doing perfect!

Are you kidding? I have been in a stall for at least 5 weeks! I was sleeved 10/22/12 and lost 24 lbs in the first month. Since then I've lost one. One!

I'm not putting on muscle either. But here's the thing...it's different this time. I'm not real happy about the stall, but I'm not panicked either. It has to change eventually.

And I feel like a new woman! Hang in there.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
