Ughhh Aunt Flow is here... AGAIN!

Recommended Posts

I know it's normal for your period to be irregular after surgery but seriously?? I'm just about 8 weeks post op and am on my period for the FOURTH time since surgery! Every two weeks I turn around and there she is again! I was on a normal cycle before surgery, am not on any type of birth control and haven't been for quite some time.

The most frustrating part is the weight gain randomness... I finally broke a 3 week stall, past the 50 lbs down mark and then BAM I'm up 2-3 lbs again. FRUSTRATED!

Aunt Flow has definately out-stayed her welcome! I'm pre-surgery, but I am seeing that a lot of people on here who experience a stall go back to liquids for a bit? Losing weight during your period is tough. I can't imagine!!

This is me too. I'm about 4 months out from surgery now, and FINALLY starting to see it slow down some. The first 90 days after surgery, I had a period for ~50-60 of them!! I had a period every 2 weeks that lasted 2-3 weeks. It was SOOO annoying. Now it's coming about every 3 weeks, and lasting about a week and a half.

I was extremely regular before, and was not (and am not currently) on birth control. I'm hoping my body can get back to that regular cycle soon. My doc said it usually takes 4-6 months to get back to normal.

4-6 months?? Ahh! Guess I should go hit Sams club for the bulk pack of tampons!

I haven't taken the pill for over 20 years and have always been fairly regular; 26-31 day cycles. Since June (6 months post-op) my cycles have been every 25 days. Don't know if it's my age (41) or the weight loss, but I'd like to head back to 28+ days myself!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
