Hi there' date='

I'm in Omaha and was sleeved on May 28th, 2013. Not too many locals on this site it seems..[/quote']

I live in Lincoln- I am leaning towards surgery in North Platte- I have an appointment the end of July - it's like an all day class for out of town patients-

Meet with the medical team, billing and nutritionist-

My BCBS plan through work doesn't cover WLS, and I work in the medical field- I didn't want everyone to know that I work with-- deciding if I will even tell my work and gagging how much time I will need off-

How are you doing after surgery?? How is your recovery? Is there anything that you are surprised about?

Did you have surgery at UNMC?

I would love to follow you on your journey- sorry that I'm steps behind you- I have thought about this for years- lap band just didn't feel right-

Sleeve feels perfect for what I need to do for me.

I am 5'3-- 232

Goal for me is like 135 --when I get that number in sight- it might change-

Hopeful for a new me!!

Jansleeve1,

I had my surgery in North Platte. I had a great experience. You should request Dr. Siep. He's the best!

That's who I am requesting- he did some surgeries on my niece ,( not for weight loss) but he pretty much saved her life-

I live in Lincoln- have not heard very good things about the 3 docs here that do the surgery- my ins doesn't cover it-

I grew up in Paxton- so I will recoup a week at my moms -

Can you tell me how often your follow ups are, and do you think I could take 2 weeks off from work- or would I need more time- I don't have lifting at my job- but it is busy and I have to be up and down a lot and on my feet-

I'm debating if I tell my work HR dept and supervisor- I really don't want them to know- but if I would need more time off - I don't want to tell them later-

How do you feel like you are doing? When did you have surgery, how are you doing with eating? Do you still drink shakes at all??

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
