Eyes Way To Big Still !

Recommended Posts

I am 3 months out and just got back from lunch with a work associate and even though I am 3 months out I still order way to much food...... Or maybe its I cant eat as much so no matter what I order I have to take 3/4 of it to go , which usually ends up getting thrown away since I don't like left overs.....

So for lunch I ordered a" Pho" salad and a fresh spring roll (which was only 2 pieces of shrimp and the rest was vegtables).... after eating the spring roll I was totally full and couldnt even touch my salad and meat , so I got that to go but will probably not eat it for dinner and throw it away. Its so much food it would take me 4 days to eat it all and that would be for every meal....... I love that my stomach is super small and I am loosing weight but I feel guilty like I am always wasting food espcially when I go out. Some places will let you order off the kids menu and other places won't , I found the fast food places that have the dollar menu are ok on portion size but terrible on fat content..... I work in sales and eat out allot since I am on the road driivng all day, sometimes I take my lunch with me but eating in your car when your driving all day isnt really appealing to me and gets very cramped.

thanks for letting me rant...

I am in the car traveling for work a lot too.

I have gone through the McDonald's drive through for their yogurt parfait, which is under 200 calories. I also stop by convenience stores and get a Muscle Milk Light if they have one. As a stand-by, I always keep a few sample Protein powder packets and a mixing cup with the mixing ball in my car. I can stop at the convenience store and get Water and ice, then mix a Protein shake on the go.

You can also carry Ostrim with you in your car. High Protein, low fat, not too many calories.

Don't feel bad, I'm out 3+ YEARS and still my eyes can be bigger then my tummy (literally) I KNOW I can only eat 1 egg, still I make 2. I KNOW I can eat 1 1/2 slices of bacon, still I cook the whole package. I KNOW I can only eat 1 piece of bread, still I toast 2. . . ugh, old habits die hard. . . I just save stuff for later. You should see how funny I look at the buffet! Now there is another story. . . . hahahaha you can just imagine!

I am a visiting nurse and live in my car 4-5 hours a day. I found for Breakfast I have a pure protien RTD can with 23 g of protien and 110 calories before i leave for the day. then ilater I might stop at Dunkin and get a Breakfast wrap with bacon egg and cheese. Absolute perfect size. By about 2 i am ready for something else. I might eat a filet of fish without bread or tarter sauce , or a grill chicken no bread or mayo. I try to get home before that so I can eat something at home like those tiuna salad foil packs. Some days I can eat more than other days, it evens out. I am 2 months out and lost. 32 pounds since surgery and 50 pounds ll together.

Going in on Tuesday. Things are arranged (need to order a cab to the station because it's too early for a bus going there) and I'm getting more nervous by the hour.

I feel like I've finally gotten past the biggest hurdle. Surgery date is September 6th, the day after Labor Day, and yesterday I got my insurance approval letter. I've followed everything they've told me to do, and I've even lost 30 lbs on my own since hubby had to change his diet for diabetes. No worries now about having to do 4 weeks of the liver shrinking diet instead of 2. On my initial visit, if I had gained just 5lbs I would have had to do 4 weeks. It's getting closer. Just 2 more months to wait.

Although the prep work took energy, I found the biggest hurdle was post-operative. The first 48 hrs were extremely uncomfortable. I did an overnight and trying to down the liquids, Tylenol, and especially the barium was rough. Thankfully though, I got away with only having to have 1 belly injection after surgery. Needless are not my thing.

I am looking for people to connect with that are 4-5 years out. Many of the support sights I go to are all newbies. And while I enjoyed that when i first had my surgery and found it useful, I am looking to exchange ideas with folks that are out a few years. I am slowly gaining weight back and losing my excitement. I don't want that!
