Hi! Lovelace in Albuquerque ? I thought they just did the Lapland there!

How was your surgery?

A bit about me: I'm stefanie, live in Rio Rancho by the star center. I am 32, I work as a part time nanny and am finishing up my masters.

I was at 318, and I am now at about 310. I'm 5'5" and am at about a size 26 ( not really fitting tho)way tight pants-- lol

I'm hoping this will make a diff!!

I'd love to meet sometime!

Hi stephanie, i am kim. yes i had it done at lovelace westside. i live near Unser and southern.

i am 45. im 7 weeks out and have only lost 24lbs since surgery (34 since the preop diet) it is going slow, but steady. i still get hungry and that is sooo frustrating. but i feel pretty good, so that is a plus. i didnt have any complications. i had that shoulder pain and it sucked for a few days but that was it.

what are you getting your MS in? I have a MS in nursing.

Love to hear back from you

Hi Kim!

Glad u didn't have complications! That's good on the loss!! Slow and steady wins the race lol!!

I'm stressed about getting it!! But excited!! Lovelace should advertise!! I'm doing it w Tim Wetherill in Santa Fe at crista st Vincent in a week!!!

They do support groups on the 3rd thurs of every month -- there's a few from Abq that had the band that go and from elsewhere too if u ever wanna go--

I've lost 9 lbs this past week with the pre diet !

What kinda Protein do I use? I have several!! The only one I can handle is the glucerna homemade vanilla pre made-- I have the Jillian why Protein vanilla that I do not like if ud like it?

I'm getting my masters in mental health counseling. I finish all my hours for the state in September but I walk on June!

Talk to u soon

Hi Stefanie!

Sorry i misspelled your name last time.

sounds like you are doing great on pre op! wtg! i lost 10 lbs on the preop diet. i thought the pre op diet was really hard.

Do you have a good support system? Are you married, kids, etc?

Id love to try whatever Protein that you dont use. Maybe i have some that you can use too. I usually make my own shakes with GNC whey Protein (it mixes easily and doesnt have a weird aftertaste) or i use the premade Premier Protein from costco (both the vanilla and chocolate are good).

tell me more about you. are you all ready for surgery?

Hi, no prob most people do get my name wrong- they even pronounce it diff-- lol

I'm doing ok on pre- op but did have Peanut Butter sun!! lol I wanted pizza but settled for a couple of spoonfuls of pb instead!

I'm from NM originally- I grew up in Clovis ( eastern nm).

I do not have any kids- yet.... I am married- female partner-- she has been very supportive so far-- she surprisingly is doing the preop diet w me! She is about 5'4 and 200 ish

What about u ? What's life been like for u after? How long before I went back to work

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
