I just want a Bagel!!!!

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone.

I feel like I'm losing my mind!! I am done with week one of my liquid diet and did ok except for my cheese incident and now I have 7 days til banding.

Just 7 days and I am seriously not getting any work done because all I can think about is how I'm probly not going to enjoy bread again and I just want a bagel!!

Did anyone else feel like the week before was harder?

Am i just being a quak?

I din't have to do any preop diet so luckily I didn't have that hurdle. It will get better, trust me. Once your banded and have a good fill food will not be a problem. I can eat bread and I've had 3 fills, I just don't eat it very, very seldom. It's just not an issue anymore. Good luck on your upcoming surgery and I will be thinking about you and hoping for you an uneventful surgery and a rapid recovery.

If you can control yourself with just one I say do it. Many doctors don't require the pre-op diet, mine wanted a low-fat diet with Myocel added to it.

They do this to make sure your liver is in prime shape as they have to move it out of the way.

Best wishes on your surgery.

Thanks for the reassurance!

It was weird. I got up this morniong and hopped on the scale and the need for the bagel went away! It's finally all clicked that I am just 6 days away.

If that mood strikes again, get a bagel chip. They will go down better later and the crunchy satisfies lots of cravings. I don't really like bread but I make croutons alot and then when I have a bread thing, I just have 1-2 croutons. 1-2, not 1-2 cups like I did before bandland. Celeste

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
