Hi Everyone. I am new here too. I was sleeved on Halloween. My doctor did not have me on a pre-op diet because my liver was not enlarged. The point of pre-op diet is to lose weight quickly so the instruments can be placed without much obstruction. I am having a hard time consuming enough liquids per day. I cannot tolerate Protein drinks so I continue to search for the right one that will work for me. I have people asking me if it bothers me that they eat in front of me. Of course not and I am thankful not to be hungry. One thing that is upsetting - I am so sensitive to smells. If my husband has garlic' date=' I cannot be near him without feeling nauseated. Hopefully this will pass. I wish you continued success in your weight loss journey![/quote']

This is too funny! I could smell people's breath also had this with my first pregnancy! I couldn't smell anything strong cooking in the kitchen .. Finally 2 mths out it went away!!!! I was afraid I would never wanna kiss my hubby again! Lol. Thought I was the only one! :)

I was sleeved on Oct. 30th and today is the 1st day I've been able to drink 1 Protein drink! I am not hungry and my stomach feels like it is about to burst. My taste buds are off and everything tastes gross! Water even makes me nauseated. SF popsicles have been my life saver. :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
