Even though you ate a small amount, your stomach has to work much harder to break down that type of food vs. full liquid or pureed. You want it to rest so it can heal that very long staple line.

I am one week post op and I just wanted to see what I could tolerate... I made spaghetti for my family's dinner tonight and I was able to eat 3/4 cup of meat sauce with maybe five or six noodles. It went down with absolutely no problem. I know I know I shouldn't be doing this.... But my question is why could I?
