Tender On The Let Side

Recommended Posts

Just this evening I have been feeling a bit tender and achy on my left side, below the rib cage and probably where the remainder of my stomach resides. Not sure what it is, but kind of feels like a case of diverticulitis. I had that once. It is fairly far to the left side in front. I drink a lot of Water every day and am almost 5 months out. BM frequency is almost daily, but nothing to write home about. I should do a clean of the intestines. Any thoughts or related experiences?

Yes, I do. Do you think tender on the left side would be that?

One thing that I've noticed about gallbladder symptoms: everyone seems to be different. Some people hurt on their backs, some people feel like they are having a heartattack...some people get nauseous. It's the radiating pain that makes it hurt in diff spots. Since WLS makes us vulnerable to gall bladder issues, just keep that in mind.

However, if I remember correctly, you lift weights? My instinct tells me that maybe you pulled something? The sutures take months to dissolve.

Of course, as always, you should consult a doc if things get worse. I know that you know that i'm not a doc, am not pretending to be a doc, and am not giving you medical advice, just my theories. But others may think I am trying to play doc, so just setting things straight. ;-)

Thanks for the suggestions. It might also just be that my BM are not productive enough and I need to do a more serious clean. Time to start using my Smooth Move supply. That worked well for me in the past, unrelated to sleeve operation.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
