And I'm wrestling with a bout of vertigo. Oh no! Make it stop!!

Plus calling off of work takes away from my vacation / healing days.

Can anyone else relate to any of this?

I'm going to venture to say a lot of it has to do with pre op diet or stress. Whatcha eatin'? Lol

Thanks for responding. I have been under a lot of stress lately ... a little more than usual. I have been doing good eating pre-op wise, but within the last couple of days, I have been having more carbs. Not just from stress but from fear that I would pass out.

I am talking things out so I feel a tad better.

I'm hypoglycemic and I know when my sugar is low and I get dizzy I hit up Protein first. Usually string cheese or yogurt. Do you have diagnosed vertigo or are you just dizzy? I keep seeing spots and I know it's stress related. I'm glad you're on top of your dizziness, just stay in tune with it and sit down! I've had 2 severe concussions, one from falling and hitting my head....not worth it. Sit when you're dizzy! :) you'll be fine, this won't last forever But if it's really a problem call and ask your doctor , maybe check your sugar if there's a glucometer near :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
