As anyone experienced numbness in their leg or legs post op? I was sleeved 11/7 and doing grrrreat! But just showed n feel part of my leg is a lil numb. Just wondering. Bout to call the Dr.

Call the doctor asap! Keep us update on what your doctor says...

Wheeew! He said since its in a certain spot (forget which nerve he said) that it's probably just from the positioning when they did surgery so it's ok. Should get the feeling back any time or within a couple weeks. No big deal cuz its above my knee I guess :-)

Ok good maybe they are like little cramps, trying walking it out. But if don't feel better go the hospital and let them do a sonogram. Feel Better Christina760...

I'm glad you're okay. Please, to anyone reading this, ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS take any numbness or tingling in an extremity very seriously. Call a doctor ASAP - don't post here about it first!

Clots are very serious. My mother (not a WLS patient) had numbness/tingling in her legs that was dismissed by her doctor. She is now permanently wheelchair bound, on warfarin and spends a huge amount of money on medical care and medications each month. Not to mention the loss of her independence while still in her forties and her inability to work for a reasonable income!

I'm very glad the OP is okay, though, and I hope the pinched nerve resolves soon.

Are you still having an issue? I still have a spot the size of my fist on my upper right quad. I could literally draw a circle around it. I had surgery on 11/10/17. I am told it is something like subcutaneous nerve damage from being on the surgery table so long...but it is on the top of my quad, not the back or bottom. What I have been reading is that it is just like when your legs fall asleep after sitting in a position for too long, you normally adjust and it goes away, but in surgery you can't adjust so you can develop some nerve damage.

My surgeon told me that this should resolve itself in 4-6 weeks. This Friday will be 6 weeks and it is still just as numb as the day after. I just was reading some other medical blogs that were saying that sometimes nerve damage can take 6 months or more to recover, and sometimes never go away.

I find that my spot drives me nuts more at night with itching - mainly right before bed.

I have this also! No pain just numbness in one leg, above the knee, since surgery 3 weeks ago. My doctor thinks it is related to positioning during surgery. He is also referring me to a neurologist.

I have the same gets worse the more I stand. I believe mine is from pressure from sagging fat pressing or putting pressure groin area the compressin the nerve. I find if I take some tissue roll it up and tuck it in the fold/groin it lifts the fat roll off the area enough that it makes numbness go away. Thats what I do, just my opinion,

Nice that you can get some relief. Mine has never gone away since the day of surgery. I have had it checked by the surgeon and my general practitioner. Both feel it will go away over time. They said just try not to keep stuff in my pocket on that side that will help aggravate it. I am 6 weeks post op. General prac said she thinks it will be 3 months.
