Recommended Posts

SSF KAISER HERE!!!

Lol' date=' and I thought I was the only one... ; )

I was sleeved this past Monday 11/26 by Dr. Robert Li.

He was awesome and just seemed so on his game when he came to talk to me 30 minutes before surgery. He's been awesome to work with. Very professional A+++

I have my follow up with Dr. Khayat.

From my pre op appointment I was told that Drs David Lee and Khayat have a similar surgery style but Dr Robert Li's is a little different.[/quote']

Saw Dr Li and I was able to meet the goal weight!!! He gave me a date - so January 16th! I am excited and nervous. I hope he is really good.

How are you so far? Hope you are doing well...

I'm doing great and I still say Dr. Li is awesome! I cried a lot... And he remained positive throughout. I haven't had any problems, I think he did a great job. I'm well on my way, I was down about 30 pounds at 4 weeks.

I did send him a freaked out email because I thought I had a leak, but then sent another one because I realized I pulled a muscle in my shoulder and he didn't mind.

He's been awesome to work with, Guisellle his nurse is awesome as well. He'll come in the next post op and let you know if you can go home or not, I spent 3 days and 2 nights in the hospital. I was nauseous.

Keep me posted on your progress, and I hope all goes well for you!

Milk of magnesia sucks! But it will for sure clean you out. And don't forget to use the wipes!

Thank you for replying! It's nice to have support ;) I am very excited and scared, but that's normal. Just praying that everything will be well with surgery & recovery. Your weight loss is awesome!!! Cant wait to be on the same loser bench, Giselle is awesome! I had to ask her for a medical slip without "bariatric surgery" on the heading/printout and she nicely gave me a generic one. I only told one close friend at work... I'll play it by ear and see how it goes. They saw me losing weight and changing my eating habits for the last 3 mos.hopefully I can keep my privacy, I'll cross the bridge when I get there..keep in touch.

I am having the sleeve done on February 20, 2013. The doctor who will be doing it is Dr Khayat who is very nice. I am 2 weeks away from my surgery and can not wait for the day to come. I want so much to lose weight once and for all. Been heavy most of my life, lots of diets and losses but this last gain brought me to 294 and I said thats it. I will not see 300 if I have to cut my stomach off myself, lol. I am down to 275 with 5 lbs away from the 270 Dr. Khayat wanted me to be. But he said with all my progress he will do the surgery anyway. I love South San Francisco Kaiser they have the best people working for them.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
