Hey all. I was sleeved on 10/10. Down about 30 lbs (won't know exact until my 1 month appt on Thursday, as my scale cannot be trusted) since which includes the 7 lbs I lost on the pre op diet. It feels SO good to be back under 300. Which I haven't seen since 2010, when I got pg with my daughter. The only thing I'm having an issue with is finding a good protein shake for myself. As I have a hard time drinking thicker liquids. I had a 7 day stall, but I chalk that up to the reintroduction of food. Also having a hard time keeping away from grains right now. :-/ Bought some low cal/sugar free mints to fight the head cravings, since I can't chew gum anymore! OY.

I was sleeved on 10-25 and my starting weight was 220. This morning I'm 209.6. Coming along ok

I was sleeved on Oct 23rd and started my mushy foods yesterday. I am struglling with trying to understand what full feels like. I consumed 3 oz of ff refried Beans last night with no issues but didn't feel the "full" feeling. I just stopped. Now in saying this, I have not been hungry. I am a little confused. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just saw my surgeon yesterday and he commented on this exact thing. He said my body is different now I am working to retrain my brain. He said the object is not to feel or get full. That is what we did before and the goal of eating is not to feel FULL. The goal is to not be hungry.

I told him I was eating 1 egg for breakfast with a little cheese and I was full. He told me to eat half the egg & wait 5-10 minutes. If i'm not hungry, don't finish it. He kept stressing that feeling full is not the goal of eating.

I'm feeling amazing! 10/22 was the big day and everyday since has been amazing! I'm not suffering much from head hunger. No problems or pains. Water is going down easy and the weight/inches are falling off! This is the best thing I could have done for myself! I'm sooooo happy! I feel like a new person. Now if only I could get to the purée stage!!!! Plus the money I'm saving on not eating fast food twice a day is awesome lol

I was sleeved on 10/13 and am down 19 1/2 lbs (started at 238.8). No real problems to report. The first few days of carb detox was brutal, but I've been great since then. I feel like the weight might come off a little quicker if I got more water in...that's my main struggle. I plan to start back to the gym today and am curious if I see any changes since I'm still not reaching 600 calories per day. We shall see. Best if luck to all of you! Even with the carb detox and awful liquid stage, I have ZERO regrets! ;)

Sleeved on 10/22 and suffering. Vomited the first week, on IV - came home vomited fit 2 days then wan able to get one protein drink down and 16.9 ozs of water. Doc told me to try thicker soft foods like oatmeal and mashed potato. Back to vomiting and cramps. Worried dehydration and malnutrition. I hope it gets better. Upside down 41 lbs. 20lbs pre opt-- 21 post opt

Sleeved 10/23. Down 19 lbs so far. Only 2 more lbs until I reach my 1st goal...Onederland!!

I was sleeved October 3rd. I'm down 25 pounds plus 10 pounds from the pre-op diet. I had a couple of days of bad eating' date=' but I'm back on track! I actually gained about 2 pounds, so now I'm down to my 35 pound weight loss. My new favorite lunch is 3 oz deli turkey and one slice laughing cow light Swiss cheese. I bring that for lunch to work everyday. I made some crustless ham and cheese quiches that I bring for Breakfast. I eat 2-4 of them. They are about 40 calories a piece. I'm aiming for 600 calories, but sometimes I don't make it. I do try though!

I really feel like this is one of the best decisions I've ever made![/quote']

Ashley - do you mind sharing your quiche recipe?

I don't mind! I got the recipe from The World According to Eggface. If you go to the website, scroll down and look on the left for "BITES". She has a lot of them. I left out the green onions, tomatoes and mushrooms so if you do want those go to the website lol

5 eggs

1/2 diced onion

1/4 lb ham

1 cup shredded cheese

1 tsp butter

1 tsp basil

1 tsp oregano

Sauté onion with butter until brown. Add in ham and sauté for another minute

Beat eggs. Add everything into the egg mixture.

Lightly grease a 24 count muffin pan. Pour in

Bake for 30 minutes at 350

They aren't that high in Protein, but it's so easy for me with work.

Thanks so much!!!

Sleeved 10/8. Dropped 18 pounds and stalled out - scale dropped 1/4 pound this morning, so hopefully it is moving again!

Having a great time at the gym. Between my personal trainer and my new workout partner, i'm getting stronger every day!

Hope everyone else is doing well.

I was sleeved on Oct 30th, 1 week ago. I was taking over 27 prescribed medications and two weeks before surgery the doctor took me off ALL meds. Since Oct 30th pm, I have been suffering from hot flashes something BAD! In the hospital the nurses put ice packs on my feet and behind my neck. I sleep with a fan and windows open. Last night all I could think of was wanting to go to the snow taking off my clothes to cool down! I live in California where it has been in the 80's! Yes, one of the meds was for hot flashes. All the Protein shakes I purchased prior and loved, now I can not stand the taste. Even Water tastes weird, yes, bottled! I am having a hard time with my Vitamins can not take the nasty taste and this morning wanted to vomit after taking my Vitamin pill. That really hurt!

But, I am hoping that this is ALL temp. Anyone have these problems and if so how long did it last?

Another thing is I see that everyone's diet plan is different. I was told I would have to be on full liquids for 4 weeks, then pureed for one week, soft foods for 1 week.

I started emailing and talking to someone that I met through this website and even though she has not had the surgery is losing weight all on her own but still wants to have the surgery in January. I told her about my protein problem so she told me to get Fage 0% yogurt and blend it with frozen strawberries and splenda…wow frozen yogurt! It will probably be the only way I get protein in me until my tastebuds come back. I have to let it sit so it is not as cold going down to my stomach.

Also, how about seedless watermelon? Is that a no no?

Sleeved 10/18 down 23 Pds since surgery;-) struggled with fluids for a while but able to get them down now. No appetite still but I'm eating a little for energy. I hate the protein shakes, and yearn for the day I won't have to choke them down anymore!!! Good job octosleevers it's so much nicer on the losers bench

Hi everybody! Sleeved on oct 10, lost 25 lbs so far. I'm losing more on inches. Everything has been going great! Liquids and food are going down good. Chicken and fish are my favorites. My sleeve doesn't like mash potatoes. Been walking everyday 20- 30 mins. Next week i start going to the gym! Tossed out some of my really big pants, I'm one pant size down. Thank u Jesus for a so far smooth recovery.
