Would you do it all again ?

Recommended Posts

I have read so much in the past week about everyone's success as well as problems. Sometimes I feel so excited about my decission then I read something that makes me doubt my decision. I know I need this,I have been large the past ten years. On more diets then I care to admit. The last year I have lost 50lbs and able to keep off 40lbs. On the other hand I still need to lose 80lbs.

Would you do it again with all the problems, discomfort, success, and the price ?

until I actually have my surgery, I think I will be doing lots of rethinking !

Yasmina :omg: :faint:

I am only 1 month out and I would do it all over tomorrow!! I am acutely aware of the POTENTIAL complications. I feel the benefit for me outweighs those risks for complications right now.

That is wonderful, glad to hear you are both doing well. I know once I do it , it will make a big difference. I am scared !

Thanks so much

It's a very personal decision to have weight loss surgery and having doubts before the actual procedure is normal. Make a list of questions to go over with your surgeon and review it with him/her.

Without a doubt, there is no question that I would do this again, and again.

There are 10,502 members of Lapbandtalk.com.......I think the ratio of listed complications is pretty normal considering there are risks with any surgery.....its all relative.

Despite any issues I've had (with are really nothing), I would do it all again. I wish I had FIVE years ago.

Would I do it again?

Absobloodylutely!!!!!

As other said...wish I could have done it sooner.

And...yup; pretty normal to have the worries/doubts etc during research phase. You're doing the right think asking all the questions.

Well I really want this, I start to feel scared when I read about all the different things that are just part of being banded as well as the things that can go wrong. Years of weight going up and down i have had enough. I want to know everything that anyone can tell me. It really helps me to hear how great everyone is doing. It is great to see the weight going down !

I wish my surgery was today, there would be no turning back !

Yasmina:)

Yes most definitely and I'm the queen of fill and unfill issues....and have had several bouts of reflux and pain; but when it gets down to it....I don't think I would every have gotten 50 lbs off any other way!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
