One day post op and I have to say the surgery itself was not that bad. I was out patient so I came home within a couple of hours. The first thing I discovered is that the Tylenol with codeine would not stay down so I guess I am going this painkiller free. liquids are not my friend either.

I was supposed to be Oct 31 but Sandy pushed it back to 11/1. I stayed one night in the hospital and left the next evening. It's been okay.

The pain isn't bad. Liquids were easy. My surgeon has me on puréed foods already which is a little tougher. The hospital meal was a meat, vegi and potato. I really just ate the meat and liquids and skipped the rest. That fits in with what my NUT told me and honestly it's all I can do.

I had the same Sandy pushed me from the 30th to 11/2. I am on pureed food as of today too- ahead of schedule. Sticking mainly to a shake or two a day, puréed split pea Soup and puréed beef stew. I made all homemade so I know exactly what is in them. I used my normal spices so I can taste something good. So far, no issues but today I ate too much of the puréed stew and I was definitely "Christmas" full off about 1/3 cup. But now I know. So far I am at a standstill at 12 lbs post op and 20 total but I think my body is just catching on to the dramatic change in eating habits.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
