What I want is some Peanut Butter cups and Ben and Jerrys. I wont. I'm full anyway from dinner. But I'm just sayin'.

I feel your pain. Lol. I use my Vitamins and calcium chews to feed my sweet tooth. Good luck

I was just going to respond with same info. The sugar free calcium chews and Fiber gummies are so low in cals, you can have a few extra. And they make them in so many different flavors. My personal favorite is caramel, but chocolate and strawberry are also good. Just don't eat too many a day or you will end up with a different, let us say less desirable, issue. Good luck.

WHATEVER YOU DO.......do NOT eat anything with MALTITOL (sugar substitute). Unless you enjoy pooping your pants about 30 minutes later. OH. MY. GOSH.... Horrific. Then again a few minutes later, and then the rest of the night....

Are the Fiber gummies good if you aren't having a daily BM? I go 4 days before I have one. What is the name of them? Weirdly, before the surgery, I had a huge sweet tooth & I was a binge eater. I am 6 weeks post op & have not had a single desire for anything sweet. I am also NEVER hungry! It is like a switch got turned off. Has anyone else experienced this?

The fiber gummies I take are from Vitafusion and called Fiber well. They help, but not nearly as effective as MOM, Miralax or Smooth Move tea.

I've bought bags and bags of candy, but haven't torn into one yet. Not that I haven't thought of it:). Can't wait to pass them out tomorrow and get them out of the house.

Some people are really sensitive to the sugar alcohols in sugar free products. I love Life Savers sugar free wild cherry flavor. They are primarily isomalt which doesn't bother me. I also like the Werther's sugar free hard candies.

I try to use these only as a last resort. They aren't calorie free! But, they are obviously way better than my beloved Reese's PB cups!

I'm feeling the same way as you shewolf. Of course, I'm less than a week post-op so things will probably change, but right now even though I used to have a huge sweet tooth, the Isopure Protein drinks are now too sweet for me, and I even have to Water down crystal lite because it's now too strong/sweet. And absolutely zero hunger. I have to force myself to stay on schedule with my fluids.

Now I'm just waiting for the trick-or-treaters tomorrow to take all my candy because just the mere thought of eating even one of those is making me nauseous... in past years I could have finished off a bag by myself!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
