All,

Thanks so much for your support!! Nice to know a I have

More " brothers and sisters" who are supporting me......but I got as far as the OR, on the table and was

Given the first round of sleeping meds. Unfortunatly, they could not intibate me after two attempts. So after two weeks of liquid diet and 24 hours I fasting, I need to do it all again as my date will be rescheduled, again. I had a milkshake on the way home though:)). !

What the Hell!!!!

You need to have your Dr find you a New Anesthesiologist for the next go around.

That is just BS. Any Anesthesiologist worth their Degree can intubate or at least use an LMA for an elective, controlled surgery like this.

I wish you the best of luck and hang in there.

All, I got the VIP treatment on my rescheduled "sleeve" day. Had all the best as it got around that I could not be intubation the last time (10/31)

My surgery went great on 11/13. With the exception of the extreme nausea I had upon waking in recovery ( lasted about an hour) and being dehydrated before being released ( they gave me a Bollus, a liter in about 45 minutes).

Have been doing great so far on day 5 post surgery. Weighed 385 in June, and 348 on the day of surgery and weighed myself today at 340!!! Thought it was going to be difficult to get my "water" in, but haven't had an issue at all. I couldn't be more pleased with my short term results and am using an iPhone app to log all of my food. (My net diary) and its Feel good about the future!

John

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
