Hey Guys & Dolls

Im 2.5 months out and last week received the green light to be on Reg food. I've been scared to try anything but today I looked over my list and saw I could have Veggie Pizza! Oh how happy I became. I went to a pizzeria and got a slice..with broccoli, spinach ,cheese and mushrooms. I removed the mushrooms bcos I think they are yucky! I took like 4 bites...FULL...And threw the rest away. Did it hit the spot? ehhh kind of but I felt throw up-y after..I still feel stuffed. And now I no desire to try pizza again...No way...I domt like how I feel afterwards lol..Glad I was able to try it and get it out my system. My dr office recommends trying something new once a day to see how u tolerate it. I love my sleeve. Down 46 lbs since Aug 17th and counting. -;)...

I can't believe this is the first time you've been able to try real food!

Every doc is diff..No sure how you're Dr works..I had to liquids for 2 weeks...then purred foods then soft foods I am now on real foods. So I dont have any restrictions like my previous stages...This is the lifestyle plan I must follow the rest of my life.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
