Your Favorite Protein Supplements, Please

Recommended Posts

Vegas mentioned Isopure. Both she and my surgeon claimed that Isopure has 40 grams of Protein. But the ones I've picked up only have 20. Are there different kinds and strengths??

Pre-made bottled Isopure does have 40 grams of Protein and comes in several flavors...I found orange to be the best. But your body can only absorb 20 grams at a time anyway (the rest gets peed out) so the 20 that you found will work too!

The bottled is clear (colored but clear) you can use it in place of cold Water when making your jell-0 !!

Best Wishes!

I did a search on this topic because I'm sure it's been done a million times before, but it came up negative.

Please post your favorite Protein supplement. Thanks so much from a new bander!

:D

Hi there and I want to say your doing great so far on your journey.

:hungry: I tried a few Protein powders but I love Designer whey in chocolate and I add a scoop of Smart Balance Peanut Butter( my dietican said its okay since Iam 4+ months out now!) it takes like a Reeces Peanut Butter Cup-Yum!

The vanilla tates good with a cup of frozen strawberries added.

I buy the small can at Eckerd for $10.00 but I can get the big one at The Health Nuts for $20.00 in Queens, NY.

Good Luck!

Love and Hugs and friendship,

LeeceLove70

Also, does anyone eat Protein bars? I'm looking for something I can grab on my way out the door in the morning..or eat at the office.

personally I don't think they are worth it....but I make a quick Protein shake and take that in the car with me...right now I have Spiru-tein chocolate flavor...but they have many other flavors.

I prefer Unjury and it doesn't come in a barrel size container like most supplements.< /p>

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
