2 Months Out

Recommended Posts

I am 2 months post op and wondering what kind of exercise people at the same stage as me are doing? I started seeing a trainer and we do weight and strength, nothing too heavy. Curious to see what you all are doing for your exercise.

I am 2 months also. I have been going to the gym 4x per week and do cardio (treadmill or stairclimber) for about 30 minutes and if I have the time I do some arm or ab work on the machines. At home I use an exercise ball or take long fast walks...it is gorgeous in New England right now so I am doing a lot of walking!

I started doing core exercises at 2 months out. Today I went for a walk in the park and it was beautiful and was able to see the ducks and other people enjoying the cool morning in Southern California. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
