Fuzzy In The Head!

Recommended Posts

I know why and I know how, but I just had to check to see if other people were fuzzy in the head during their 2 week pre-op diet. It is one that requires two Medifast shakes and a sensible meal. I am allowed to have healthy Snacks in moderation as well. I have to tell you though; my brain is just not all there! lol...I am working on a graduate degree and I can't concentrate on my homework. Heck, it took me 15 minutes to post this because I kept getting fuzzy...lol.

I know that it is because I have cut down on the amount of food as well as cut out most carbs so that is probably why I am feeling this way...Is there a lot of fuzzy headedness after the surgery, too? I just want to know what to expect so I know if it is going to be an issue for schoolwork.

Thanks!

Sorry, friend! I have no sympathy for you! My doc requires a two week ALL liquid Protein diet, no Snacks, no food AT ALL except for the Liquid Protein, broth, sugar free popsicles and sugar free Jello.

I'll see your fuzziness and raise you crankiness! I am on the one week mark of my two week diet. NO food AT ALL. But in all seriousness, I think a lot of it is mental. It will pass.

Hi my name is Bob M. and this is my first time on VST. I have been reading the forum since I started the process to surgey which is in two days. Dr. put me on 10 day liver strinking diet which is Protein Drink Breakfast, lunch and 4 oz lean protien at dinner. it includes veggies and fruit. I was 4 days in and had that fuzzy head feeling but has kinda past. What I have now is muscle cramping all over including in my stomach like charlie horses. I'm drinking my 64 oz + and I also have dry mouth.

Anyone experience this? As days and hours click by I wonder if I'm doing the right thing, but working out my own head games.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
