Endoscopy In An Hour...

Recommended Posts

I barely slept & now of course I'm parched & can't drink! Lol ugh. This will be my 1st invasive medical procedure... I'd be lying if I said I wasn't nervous.

Mine was a breeze, I was freaked out and the nurse said "oh sweetie, you aren't going to remember a thing!" I was so worrried about gaging! and she was right. They gave me a little something in my IV and 20 minutes later they woke me up and I was alert and awake and they said all was good! Don't worry! You will do great! Good Luck!

This is one procedure that you shouldn't worry about. You won't even know it happened when you wake up.

Yep, it's a breeze!Fact, you're probably in lalaland already. ENJOY!

When I was banded I had so many done I looked forward to them.. Best sleep I ever experienced while having the band. I wasn't coughing, gagging, or puking blood.

Hey, if i knew how, I would change my name on here to Ms AntiBand... Maybe I'll work on that.

ANYWAY .. Be on your way and relax ;D

Thanks all :}

It was fairly smooth, although not as quick as they made it out to seem. At the 1st Gastro consult they said it'd be about an hour total in &out, but ended up being more like 3... Ugh. I started tearing up in the processing & then in waiting room. Poor Sam didn't know what to think LOL throat is a little scratchy, but no big deal now. I'm glad they gave me a copy of the pix...I'm rather morbid that way haha I may frame it & hang over my desk. ;}

Thank you! :) I'm realizing as the sedation drugs are finally fully working out of my system that the clear exam means I'll be clear for VSG (instead of RNY, which would've been my only option if evidence of active ulcerations, etc)

My final referral appt is with cardiology next monday @ 8am. Then one more wrap-up appt with my surgeon & insurance submission! :}

      Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

      I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
      I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

      I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
