Neither, really. At least not in what I've put it in.

You can add the unflavored to oatmeal, grits, mashed potatoes when you are on the soft foods phase. I can eat real food but I still use Unjury daily to get my Protein in. It does make whatever you add it to thinner, so you have to adjust your liquids at the beginning to make things the correct consistency. I have to laugh when I read that people say it is sweet, the Unjury are much less sweet than most Proteins.< /p>

Can the unflavored be used in the 'clear liquids' stage of pre and post op? I was looking into the Isopure, but it is so pricey! I also have ordered several 'sample' packs of different powders. I think the toughest thing for me will be not getting 'bored' about the protien shakes, so I am looking up as many varieties and 'recipes' as I can!

Under forums>food&nutrition>protien drinks/powders>places to get liquid protien samples. Here is a direct link:

http://www.verticalsleevetalk.com/topic/1267-places-to-get-liquid-protein-samples/

Some of the links were old, so I googled some, but I found Vitalady to have a TON! I think I ordered at least 60 samples! I plan to make a chart and rate all of them. If I have to drink Protein, I want to be sure I am drinking the best tasting Protein I can drink!

I only add about 1/2 scoop of the unflavored to my flavored waters and such (32 oz bottle). Too much does change the flavor some. ;)

So I tried the unjury chocolate Splendora I think its called (they have two a chocolate and this one) yesterday with 8oz of 1% fat free milk and used the imulssion(sp?) Mixer/blender to mix it up and I have to say I was very surprised at how good it really was, it tastes just like a low fat chocolate milk and didnt have a bad smell or a weird taste or after taste either! Very happy with the chocolate!

Ok, so I forgot to pack milk the other day. I went to Starbucks and ordered a short FF steamed milk with sugar free vanilla flavoring. I mixed it with Unjury chocolate splendor. It was so good, I almost felt guilty. The pre op diet shouldn't be this easy! Also, I mixed the strawberry sorbet with Fage fat free plain yogurt. It was really really good as well. I do t usually like chocolate or strawberry Protein Shakes, so I was surprised by these. Glad I bought the sample pack. Also, I tried the steamed milk with Syntrax Nectar choc truffle and that was really good too. Hope I still like these after.

Totally agree! I use 1/2 scoop unflavored (10.5 gs. Protein) with about 3 cups (24 oz. Ice Water and ice cubes) with crystal lite. Sometimes it gets lumpy but I keep ice and a shaker ball in my cup snd shake before each sip. 2 of these between meals and I get had my Water and Protein in just fine (and I'm still on full liquids until tomorrow-yaaaaa!) each day. Pre-op, works too, but I preferred my shakes Pre-op made with a lot if ice, skim milk or FF fro yo and some fruit. Post-op shakes are pretty boring-no fruit or milk (until full liquids!) or Fro yo and they can't be too thick, so less ice---boring!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
