Stabbing/burning Pain

Recommended Posts

Wondering what your Dr. said when you saw him/her? How long did your pain last? Did you try the Spanx with any results? I am experiencing the same pain and it's extreme at times. Thanks for your input!

So I just saw dr! She said it was an internal stitch that it could take up to a month to completely dissolve! I'm 3 weeks out and she said to keep massaging it!!! I have not tried the spanks yet but may when I return to work on Monday!!

This is the first time I have heard mention of massaging. How are you to massage the area? When you massage does it hurt also? Thanks! Amber

I've been having these pains as well. I'm glad to hear that it is due to healing. I was starting to get worried b/c they just came out of no where.

I am so glad all of you said this. I was getting really nervous about the pain on my right hand side. Thought either I was being a big baby or over did it walking yesterday. Gonna call the dr tomorrow if it gets any worse just to be on the safe side. Hope all of you are doing good other than that!!

I currently have the same pain. Someone told me that it was an internal stitch that it might be pulling when i move sorten ways. Anyways below is my post from another thread. Im glad i read this. I go back to work on thursday and hope it feels better. Truthfully it feels like i had some sort of tissue tear but only hurts when i move a certain way.

"tqmeri30"]I was sleeved on Oct 2 and four days later i was feeling great, i started walking around more but mainly laying in the couch all day. I was in no pain, no gas, no heartburn. On the sixth day as i was getting off bed i got a pain full sharp pain in my belly. It felt like i pulled something. Or like i was tearing something. I called the nurse and she said to rest. The truth is that it only hurts realy bad if i get up of move a certain way, but it hurts really bad. If im sitting still i forget im in pain or even had surgery. Has this happened to anyone. I would really appreciate you input.

Other than this darn thing recovery has been great!!!!

I've been massaging since about 1 week out! U feel those hard little bumps under incision ?? That's the tissue healing... Forming scar tissue!! The massaging will help the formation if scar tissue!! I kinda donut all day long but especially at night n in morning while I am laying in bed!! Do circles, left to right, up n down! Use some pressure but obviously not too much that u are in pain! I try to massage whole stomach getting deep to muscle! Once my incisions are completely closed ( no more scabs)I will pop a Vitamin e capsule n massage with that!! U can use any lotion( Vitamin e n coco butter are really good) but not untill a few weeks out!!!

I'm now 2 weeks out and that darn pain just won't go away, Tylenol takes the edge off, but not completely gone. My daughter-in-law told me about the Vitamin E massage too, she used it on her C-section scar and said it made it a lot softer and alleviated that "pulling" feeling. I think I will try that soon as my scabs are almost all gone.

If you already have scabs and its not oozing go ahead and start the Vit E. At least put it around the area to loosen the tight skin.

Those internal stitches can take a few months to dissolve. Just be patient. :-)

I had my surgery April 2 2013 with some set backs but it is now my 8th day out and I have been having stabbing and burning pains on my left side..my doctor said it is normal and is caused by cutting a muscle in the stomach and prolly will last for 2 weeks. She suggested taking my levsin. It seems to help but I also alternate it with my vicodine. Good luck to you all who has this pain to.

I'm so glad I read this I am just past the 3 week post op date and I suddenly started having this burning pain like someone kicked me in the tummy. Sounds like it happens about this time to most. I will tell my doc at my appointment Wednesday but I'm not freaking out as bad as I was.

I’m having the same problem
On my left side, it’s a part of the healing process from what I’m hearing, something about the scar tissue it’s nothing serious, but it hurts like HELL

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
