Recommended Posts

i started at 273lbs.

i weighed myself 2 days ago and i was 158lbs.

my bmi went from 51.6 to 29.9.

according to online bmi calculators,

i am officially no longer OBESE!

i am considered overweight.

im so happy!

i wear a size 6ish in jeans.

some of the 6s fit a lil loose & some are skin tight.

this surgery has truly put me through hell

You are I are alot alike. I started my journey at 264 lbs and I'm currently 158. I wear mostly size 8 and some 6's. I'm still trying to lose 8 more pounds. That would be my personal victory. I've plateau and I go up 3 lbs then back down. I feel fabulous but I want to make it to my personal goal. Great job!

Congrats Jasleeve! I recently read through your whole complications thread. The great part about reading about it this late in the game is that I didn't have to wait to find out the outcome. I'm glad things worked out well for you in the end, even if it was a terribly rocky road at the beginning. I'm to the point that I'm willing to risk a couple months of pure hell to get this weight off. Thanks for sharing your story!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
