Good I'm glad to hear that! I suck the salt off of 3 small pretzels dipped in mustard for flavor!! Then give my dog the pretzel!!

I was sleeved on9/24/12. Not sure if I'm doing good or not. Weighed in at 295 day of surgery now 275? I have lost 20lbs since surgery. My surgeon advanced me to purée to and I had baked chicken n broccoli puréed. Simply delish!

I think that's perfect. I am only down 18 pounds!

I'm still on liquids til the 22nd, but I think I'm going to phase in a bit of cottage cheese for dinner. I am starving at times. It's weird how we all have different advice from different doctors for the same procedure. My doctor didn't even say it to me, I just got the "standard" book he gives to everyone.

Cottage cheese is pretty heavy. I tried puréed Soup and I was soooo sick! Go slow!!!

I still can't have anything but liquids. Going for a scope tomorrow to dilate the hernia that was repaired during surgery. Even liquids hurt going down. I tried a spoonful of yogurt and thought I would die!!

I have just today started to keep track of what I'm eating. Boy am I way off! I'm almost getting my Protein. Water hurts. shakes, I only have a little....applesauce went down fine I guess I should sprinkle Protein Powder on that. pureed food makes me sick.....it hurts my stomach, I have to run to the bathroom and I get the sweats and chills right after eating.

Maybe it's just too soon for solids or purees for us. Liquids hurt sometimes for me too but if I take tiny sips I am ok. I had a hernia repaired too I wonder how much that has to do with the pain???

I was sleeved on the 24th. Have lost 15 lbs since then, but slowing down now. That is ok too. I feel great, and cannot wait for the next stage.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
