Mexico Octosleevers! Add Your Name, Date And Surgeon!

Recommended Posts

Oops, one more thing! The night nurses spoke less English than the day nurses. There is wifi in the Hospital, so I downloaded the app iTranslate. It was wonderful!! It helped me and them. Just a thought.

Ice is pronounced "yallo" and a GREAT ond to know. Heehee. Getting to the bathroom and showers is a breeze.

I really think Mi hospital is cleaner than our hospital's here.

Thanks I'm done and all I have is heartburn, Dr Lopez found a hole in my esophagus and 30% of my stomach was in my chest cavity. Holy crap. He fixed it thank God.

Told me if it wasn't fixed within 2 years I probably would of gotten esophageal cancer , kind of puts thing in perspective. But I'm done healthy and it's wonderful in PV :)

Hey, that's cool--you'll get a little more time to prepare! Glad you're still on the sleevers list;-)

Erp kind of stressful when the coordinator doesn't seem to remember booking you on a certain date! Hoping it was just a misunderstanding and I'm all set to go on the 28th, if not then I guess I might be going in for surgery on the 29th... which isn't a huge deal but my flight home is the 31st and that's one less day to recover before flying, argh! Hope it works out.

Ugh that stinks, I emailed my coordinator last week to just check in.

Ugh yep, she has me down for the wrong day. I'm not sure what to do. I have several emails from her where she confirms that I'm having surgery on the 28th, and now suddenly she's basically saying that we always agreed on the 29th. So I have 1 less day to recover which just makes me feel oh so much more secure in my decision to fly to Mexico for surgery because I have to come home a whole day early :(

I'm so sorry but honestly I'd prefer to be home recuperating. Which doc if you don't mind me asking, u can private message me.

I'm with jaime Ponce de leon, this is no error of his though, this is a breakdown in communication with the coordinator I guess!

I would honestly rather be at home recuperating too but, we're talking about the difference of a night in a hotel and a night at home, not a night in the hospital and a night at home. I'd still be doing the 2 nights at the hospital, I'd just get no hotel stay. It would have been nice to have a stress free day in a real bed to recuperate before having to spend all day flying (Leave San Diego at 11am and get home at midnight, blech!)

My issue is that If they felt it was safe to let everyone go home after only 2 nights, then why wouldn't they do that to everyone? If they make everyone stay an extra night in a hotel it must be for a reason, that's what worries me.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
