How Many People Use Chia Seeds?

Recommended Posts

I'm wondering how many chia users there are here & what you are paying for the seeds. I just got my first bag (1lb) and they were kinda expensive.

I found a place in AZ that will wholesale them to me but I'd have to buy forty four 1.5lb bags.

10$ seems to be the going price, so they are kinda expensive but dang well worth it, I have never been as regular as I am when I started using these. I still have to use Mirilax too, the chia seeds just seem to make me more comfortable, when I took Mirilax alone I had a lot of urgency.

Do you recommend the white or black ones?

According to my research the black has a bit more antioxidants, whereas the whitis slightly higher in Protein. The difference is really so minimal tgat I don't think it really matters.

I think if I were trying for maximum health benifit I'd go for the black because I already get plenty of Protein.

I bought some for hunger, tried them once and hated how they expanded. :( Now I'll try them quickly and see what happens. :)

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
