Robotic Sleeve? Anyone

Recommended Posts

On the 28th of September I am having the sleeve, a hysterectomy and gall bladder removal with 2 surgeons and the davinci. They both say healing time will be quicker because there is less "pulling" and tweaking on the muscles. I trust my surgeons. They are men and this is a gadget. :) WHen is your surgery scheduled? I just hope my stupid allergies get better so i don't have this cough!!! Davinci can't help me there!!!

My surgery is scheduled for October 16th but yesterday he asked me if I was ok to possibly moving it to October 2nd...either day is fine with me cause I'm just so excited about the opportunity....best wishes for your surgery I'm sure everything will be just fine, my doctor actually told me the same thing about the recovery being faster.

I was sleeved on 09/06/12, and my surgeon used the robot. I had no physical pain (other than the gas!), and I went back to work in 7 days. Quick recovery!

I've lost about 16 pounds since surgery, and I'm two weeks out today. I stalled for a few days, probably bc I'm struggling to get in all my Water and protein...but it'll get better. I'm amazed at how I'm feeling full after just a few bites of food! Amazing!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
