Help....what Else To Do?

Help please...

Hi everyone.... Post op day 9 ... this has really been rough

I haven't posted because I really haven't made too much in the way of improvements. I'm 1 wk 2 days post op and should be able to start full fluids but still cannot tolerate CLEARS.... My urine is light tea colored and I only pee once a day, and I totally feel like CRAP.

I have contacted the Dr. and am doing everthing I have been instructed to do, but this body is not cooperating.

I sip, sip, sip and only abt a half a sip per sip at that and by the time I've sipped 8 times over abt a 30min period I feel horrible...

The nausea is worst then when I was pregnant with my daughter. I actually took a pregnancy test (negative of course) because that is the last time I experienced nausea like this.

I've followed this to the T, and still I feel like no progress.......

This is the first time I have actually done something for my self, and I feel so DEFEATED right now..

I like many others only told immediate family (hubby the kids- not even my mom) and I know my husband is trying but he said today you are so weak, and you can't even drink the water..was this really worth it?

And I said through tears, I think it will be... but honestly I'm not so sure anymore?

  • Thanks BlueOctober... My husband has been saying the same thing. I just really wanted to try to do it myself, but I see that's not working so well.

I was right there with you! On day 10 I went to the emergency room for fluids. Once i got re-hydrtaed I could start doing hot tea....then gatorade...and so on. I felt like a new person when i left the ER. I received 5 bags of fluids in 2.5 hours. They almost admitted me. I say go tonight. You will feel so much better!

Thanks BlueOctober...

My husband has been saying the same thing.

I just really wanted to try to do it myself, but I see that's not working so well.

you know for me it sound that you are dehydrated. go to ER and let them handle that. you will feel much better after. please take care of yourself.

Dont worry! We all need a little help now and then! I should of went days earlier!

Go straight to the ER I felt the same way and was severely dehydrated

Yes, please go and get re-hydrated, you will feel much better.

Please remember we are the individuals who have undergone the surgery and we should now be listening to our bodies. Your body is telling you to go and get help. You will feel better knowing that you have done what was best for you and your body. Our loved ones, who have not had the surgery; are taking this walk through our "ups" and "downs". Questioning our-self is good and healthy, but 2nd guessing will sometimes lead to some of the negatives we may have felt prior to our decision to have the surgery. Uncontrollable pain and weakness gets us depressed quicker. Staying hydrated and getting stronger will show you more progression that any pound lost. Feeling good will contribute to your looking good and then your husband will see your inner strength.

Best wishes and I feel better soon.

You should go to the ER for fluids. Dr. A would not want you suffering like this. Have you called him? He is very good to get back to you when something seems wrong. I talked with him two days ago about this virus I have going on. Please go get checked out and you will feel better. I was never dehydrated but others that were say the fluids help so very much.

It will get better but you are probably so dehydrated that you will be forced to go the ER for fluids. It will make you feel sooooo much better. :) Let us know, hope you feel better!!

Ladies,

I send you all the most sincerest thank you ever. You were all correct... I was badly dehydrated. I've spent the last 4 hours in urgi care getting rehydrated, meds for the nausea, and found out I have a UTI, due to me not passing urine or having enough fluid. I have to return tomorrow for more IV fluid and IV antibiotics...

You have no idea how much I APPRECIATE you all for your encouragement and caring..

I feel better, more alive and with it. The nausea has subsided, and the prescription for the nausea med is in the pharmacy.

I was at my lowest point when I asked for help, and I am so glad that I did.

I am back home, going to lay down, I'm really sore after sitting up kinda in a uncomfortable position for so long, but grateful to have been treated.

I thank you all, and know I am not out of the woods, but feel the best I have felt since the surgery.

I will keep you posted, and I'm sending you all hugs tonight :)

I am so happy to hear that you are already feeling better. Take care if yourself and I pray you continue to go uphill. :)

Great news! Glad you are on the right road.

I'm glad you updated us and thank goodness you got help. Take care and it can only get better from here!

Thanks God you listen and go. Take care of yourself. Everything would be great:)
