Stomach Cramps... Tmi Warning!

Recommended Posts

SO yesterday when I got to work my stomach started to cramp. I ignored it but then it got bad. So I was a bit worried when i realized I felt this kind of feeling before. It's the same kind of feeling I had before surgery when I needed to go #2. Now ive barely been going #2 since surgery. Doc said to take a stool softener. Did it and it was crazyyyyyy. Now I've literally been on the toilet since yesterday!!! My stomach hurts. It goes back and forth from hurting to not hurting well it aches. But i dont feel like I have anymore waste left in me. Im sitting on the toilet just waiting and I can't pass gas either. What can I take to cure my aching tummy? Could this be a sign of a leak?

Help!

I would get some clear soluable Fiber with some Miralax. I do this daily and dont have these problems. i mix it with my Protein Drink in the morning in the blender, and dont taste anything at all. Good Luck I know this is a terrible feeling. But trust me the fiber works!

I would take a Gas-X to see if it is the air in your system that is making you feel so bad at this point. I too have to take something to keep my system moving. If I don't, it is bad news all the way around. I was told never to go more than 2 days without a BM, so if you have gone a long time inbetween, that may be why you are in so much pain now. Good luck and I hope you feel better soon.

Not saying you did, but I have had patients mix up stool softeners and laxatives before, which can cause them to go because laxatives are a stimulant. When I was having trouble pre-op I would use some generic benefiber every morning and it helped without being too strong. I hope it starts to resolve soon.

Thanks Everyone! I am extremely backed up. I haven't gone in over a week and I took the stool softener (colace) last week. Im popping gas x but it's not really working. I just sat on the toilet and I felt something trying to come out but it won't. Ugh!! I can't sit on the toilet all day. So I think I may have no choice but to try the fiber option someone suggested. I hope it gets better. I didn't know you shouldn't go more than two days without a BM! I'll keep that in mind. Thanks again!

I had the exact same problem. I did not like the option of having to take a laxitive everyday. The fiber is great and works!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
