Okay, so I had a slip up and haven't been on my nuva ring since after surgery because the antibiotics cancelled it out. I'm 5 and a half weeks post op. How is my body going to absorb this plan B pill? Do I need more than 1? I'm confused?

Obviously ask your doctor and/or the pharmacist, but from what I've been told with the sleeve there are no restrictions or changes on most medications, Vitamins, etc. The stomach still digests it the same way. Just make sure to tell them what else you're taking so they know.

The only thing that seems to happen is some people have problems with larger pills, and they recommend you stay away from things like aspirin and ibuprofen (Advil) because they can irritate the stomach.

I've heard the same thing as COsleevedude: no restrictions on meds, but try not to gulp a horse pill! Definitely call the doc or pharmacist, and do it soon. You do not want to wait until its too late....

Maybe the place you got the meds can give advice? Im wondering if it could be crushed? But please ask a qualified person. Im NOT a doc, but common sense is the best medicine, and right now, you need a real medical person to tell you how to proceed...good luck, and good on you for being proactive and not choosing DENIAL!!!

Please keep us posted :-)

Still purging all of the larger clothing. This morning, a shirt that I ADORED wearing ended up on top. Hard to let it go, but it was also hard to let go of those habits that also no longer serve my highest good. Onward and upward!

Well, tomorrow I go in for an impromptu hiatal hernia repair after ending up in the ER over the weekend because I couldn't get food down and water was moving at a trickle... I've been having these symptoms on and off for a few weeks but Sunday was the worst by far and came with chest pain and trouble breathing. The ER PA thinks it is just esophagitis and that the surgeon and radiologist are wrong. But the bariatric surgeon swears it is a hernia, possibly a sliding one based on my symptoms. So he fit me into his schedule this week to repair it! I hope he's right and this sorts it out. He's going to do a scope afterwards to be sure there is nothing wrong with the esophagus. Here's hoping it all goes well!!
