Frustrated And Tired Of Waiting

I received a referral for wls in july/aug of 2011 through kaiser permanente. I was able to start the options classes in september and completed in december. I wasn't able to get in for my mental health evaluation until march, saw the doctor for evaluation (again) until may. After weekly calls I finally got an appointment with the surgeon for today, august 20,2011, a YEAR after referral. I had to get 3 people at work to switch days around and ended up working nights to get to my appointment. Got to the office 20 min early only to be informed that my appointment had been cancelled and I had been notified that morning. WRONG. I was notified, 40 minutes after my appointment was scheduled. They had already rescheduled me for another appointment, without asking if I could make it. If I turn it down it could be another 2 months before I get another. So I guess I'll be trying to switch shifts around again or have to put it off until they have an appointment that I can go to without problems. I'm just sick of waiting.I've already waited so long that I had to have my lab work done again (11 tubes). I just can't see an end. And when I got home and told my family what happened all they said was "that's to bad. Did you go to the grocery store?" I guess that tells me how much support I'll be getting after surgery.

I understand your frustration with the whole approval process. I am also having problems with scheduling appointments and such. I suppose all we can do is jump through the hoops to get on that surgical table. I just wish someone would hold the darn hoop up for me. Lol. Hang in there.
