12 hours until banding!

Recommended Posts

I'm pretty excited and can't believe it's really here! I need to go pack a bag to bring with me. My surgeon says that I should be able to go home tomorrow, but to be prepared to stay overnight if necessary. I've read through all the lists, but wanted to see if anyone has anything unusual that came in handy at the hospital.

Thanks!

Something very comfy to ride home in. I just wore my house coat, not like I was getting out of the car until I got home.

I wish you the best, I remember how thrilled I was the night before.

I didn't have to stay overnight, but I was inseperable from my heating pad! It felt sooooooo good on my aching back. I really got the gas pains in my shoulder - back area. Also a pillow for the ride home to pad my sore port area.

Terry

Good luck and congratulations. Just don't forget your pillow. I really wish I had one to help hold my belly over bumps in the road on the way home!

Want2lose, Im with you all the way. Wishing you the best tomorrow for a quick and painless surgery. I'm thinking all good things.

Want to hear from you as soon as you can.

For all of you who are having negative scared thoughts , and continue to remian nervous right up to the OR Romm-(like I did) --REMEMBER: Beautiful thoughts. When you lye down on the operating table, close your eyes and picture yourself at goal. Picture yourself thin, sexy, and living the healthiest lifestyle. Picture yourself at your favorite vacation spot, walking the sandy beaches sporting your two piece bathing suits Picture every wonderful image in your head. Picture everything that make happy and safe. It truly works. My girlfrend helped me use this positive imagry. It always helps when you have a psychologist as a best friend. lol

Everything will go smoothly. God Bless and Good luck. My thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Regards,

I'll be thinking of you tomorrow; wishing you a successful surgery and a speedy recovery. Interesting that you are going home the same day. I am also being banded at Fair Oaks (Sept. 19th) and was told I would spend at least one night in the hospital. Good luck!!!

You'll be in all of our prayers. It will be over in a blink of an eye.

I agree with heating pad, Snacks for whoever will be going with you so they don't have to leave your side. My own pillow was the tops, felt like I was at home. Get your pain meds filled before hand so that when your released you can go straight home, but you probably won't even need them. I only took them to help me sleep.

That's all I can think of,

Hugs and best wishes,

Let us know how things go.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
