Been 63 hours since I last smoked. Physical cravings withdraw is peaking, and woke up with the "smoker cold/flu"

Mentally I just don't want or need one. But physically my body is screaming. Get past the 72 hour mark and I should start feeling much better. After nicotine is out of my system I should be much much better.

Just day three sucks no matter what method you use to quit.

i feel for you. hubby went through it years ago. i only had to quit diet coke. he found that getting rid of things that would trigger the smoking response helped. his favorite chair after work to watch the news and smoke a cigarette. Threw it away. Avoided parties/drinking situations for a while because beer and a cigarette went hand-in-hand. Instead of smoking after "ahem-relations" a shower and cold glass of tea and maybe more fun. lol.

when he quit years ago you could still smoke indoors in Maryland. Hopefully you won't have that added reminder to overcome. He went from3 packs a day to zero cold turkey, no RX. You can do it. Think of the bigger (or smaller) picture.

Yep, they say the first three days is the hardest after that it's all mental, once the actual physical addiction is done. It's just like "head hunger" after surgery.

If you realize that the hunger pains you feel in your belly is most likely the acid churning or your inside and outside of your stomach healing, and that's why the growling, grumbling, wave feelings, it helps you deal with it.

You are winning the battle because you knew what you are were up against and can see it logically. Good for you for quitting and congrats.

I haven't smoked in years and years, and I know what you are going through, the flu/cough, etc. and you should be proud of yourself.

Thanks for the support. Did hypnosis, so my mental addiction is really not the issue any more. My sub conscience "cues" that it's smoke time are gone. Just this physical part is hard. Lots of Water.< /p>

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
