Awwww. Hang in there and keep your mind on the end result and how good you will feel when it's all over. It's normal to be nervous before any surgery but it will be over before you know it. ;)

Hi - I had my surgery on June 27th and I tried not to think about what I was doing before the surgery. I couldn't believe that I was finally going through with it after talking about it for so long. I must admit I was nervous. But now I know it was the best thing I ever did for myself. I have no regrets and I finally feel I have a bright future as far as my health is concerned. You will be fine. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Angelofmercy, you hang-in there. The benefits of the vsg outshines any fears of it, by light years.

I took 5 different appointments with 5 different surgeons in 3 different countries over the las 3 years, to bail out every single time, until i reached 225kg !

When i found a surgeon who ha d a different approach related to surgery risk management, i braced myslef and said this time there is no turning back.

My determination, made everybody around in the supporting camp instantaneously.

This surgeon was using a special robot, that reduced the risk of leakage a lot.

No i am a completely different person. No side effects at all.

Stand firm, and goodluck.

Whenever I got that scared to death feeling, I would remind myself of all the reasons that I decided to do the surgery in the first place and that always calmed me down. Scary surgery that will potentially offer me a month or so of discomfort vs. health issues, a life time of struggling, being uncomfortable in my own skin, etc.... and suddenly was back on track that scary surgery was just that. And sometimes, we have to face our fears to get to the good stuff. If you're sure that you've made the right decision and weighed the pros and cons and still come back to surgery, just try to think about life 6 months after surgery and how great you're going to be!

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
