It had been 3 Weeks since I was sleeved. I get this nasty foam in my mouth and my mouth is constantly dry. And all if a sudden I have the worst taste in my mouth everyday when I wake up? Nasty I know: / did this happen to anyone else? When will it stop?

I havent had any issues with foam, but ever since my surgery my mouth feels nasty all the time. I brush my teeth at least 3 times a day now and I was sleeved in April. I dont know what the deal is, but I think it has something to do with not eating as much crunchy stuff as I used to. Also, I used to chew gum all the time, but I never do now. I eat a lot of soft foods now that I never did before.

I don't know much about the foam.

But the other 2 are fairly easily explained, the dry mouth is usually an indication that you are not getting enough Water. And the nasty taste in your mouth is likely the result of Ketosis which is basicicly just the burning of fat cells. It kinda throws the body chemistry off a bit and does mean we might need a bit more deodorant & toothpaste.

And yes, it happens to most of us. Hope that helps.

Edit: the bad taste will get better as your weightloss slows.

Yup. I agree. Probably in Ketosis (which is a good sign). I used to carry around the little disposable toothbrushes, you know...the kind that has a little drop of toothpaste already on it. I know Colgate makes them...Anyway...it does get better!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
