What Vitamins and how much of them are you taking after post op. I am just wondering what the monthly cost of these would be.

Thanks.

I take two chewable vitafusion 500 mg Calcium (tastes like candy - sugar coated), two chewable Multivitamins, 2500 mcg sublingual B-12, 1000 mg fish oil (I have to swallow this one...couldn't find anything chewable. I waited until 6 weeks out to start this one.), and 10,000 IU Vitamin D chewable. Hope this helps! :)

I take 2 Celebrate chewable multivitamins and 5000mcg sublingual B-12 (Gonna check with my NUT on the dose next visit - but for the time being I know that too much isn't going to hurt me because it's Water soluble)

Thanks. Not to many Vitamins. I'm glad. I thought it was going to be way more.

I was actually scared that it would be way more Vitamins than this. As of now I am only taking 1 multi vit. and 4000 units of Vitamin D. I was low on vitamin D... should I be taking more? I haven't had my surgery yet. It probably won't be until mid sept. or Oct.

I have been taking 2 chewable multi Vitamins each day. I take Calcium a couple of times a week and B-12 sublingual 2x per month. So far all my numbers are perfect. I also use the 3-4 ounce liquid Protein shots (added to Water or tea) and these have lots of added Vitamins as well, so I think they are helping keep the numbers up.

With some of the posts I could not tell if the people listing their vitamins were taking everything everyday, or periodically. So far for me it has been a non-issue.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
