Will This 3 Week Stall Ever End?

Recommended Posts

I have not lost even an ounce since last Tuesday =( I know everyone says it will be ok, you'll lose but it is so frustrating!! I didn't pay all the money (self pay) and go through the emotional rollercoaster to stall for this long!! I know I will probably look back 6 months from now and laugh at myself for fussing but right now, at this moment in time, I am frustrated... Am I allowed that at least?

Hey you its Debbie, you are doing so good and its only been a month since I saw you...34pounds in a month WHAT!

I only wish I was so lucky :) Dr. Rod moved my surgery up a month so I will be heading back to Juarez sometime

before Thanksgiving to finish my revision.

Keep up the good work!!!

I had a 2 1/2 week stall right at 6 weeks. It was as I hit the lowest weight i had been in 10 years. It was like my body was saying "whoa, that's enough now." I just kept at it and the scale moved but it sure was frustrating! I understand. Don't give up.

Did you do pre-op measurements? If so, re-measure and show yourself another way that things are changing.

Hi...I had my surgery on July 4th, so just a few days after you and I am also stalled since Thursday, so one week now.

Isn't it hard to believe that we can eat as little as we are eating and our body's are still hanging on for deaqr life to that fat we so desperately want to get rid of!

I guess when you think about it.....we wouldn't be healthy if our bodies didn't go into survival mode when we lost a large amount of weight quickly.

People say this passes and then happens again over and over on this weight loss journey......but my pessimistic thoughts creep in and I think....this is probably all I will lose.......or....why can I never GET PAST A 30 POUND WEIGHT LOSS on any diet in my LIFE so far......it is always my stall point.....but I guess we don't have a choice now to go and sabatoge the progress.......

So...cheers....here I am holding up my Water and saying hang in there.

Let's check back with each other in a few weeks and see if we have moved onward......and downward! :-)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
