One question I forgot to ask my surgeon...When can we have sex again? LOL Sorry for being so blunt about it, but what has everyone been told?

I'm 1 wk post op today :)

I was told two weeks, but everyone will tell you something different. Every doc has such different recommendations, all you can do is go with what yours told you. One thing you can count on...if it hurts...DON"T do it!

It seems the general consensus is "When you fell ready" and "Take it slow"

:)

I was told when I felt ready. I felt ready one week out :-)

I was careful and (tmi alert) went on all fours with a pillow under my belly for support.

All was good!

4 weeks out was the guideline he gave me. I would also go doggie style with pillow for support!

I was 2 weeks out and my Dr. told me as long as he wasn't sitting on my stomach, it should be all good. Being on top was a little uncomfortable so we did it spoon style and doggie style at first. And yes, you will need a pillow for support especially if you guys are both really excited.

I was given no guideline but did it as soon as I was up to it, and only you know when that is! Listen to your body and go slow and you should be fine. ;)

At least wait till you're out of the recovery room :)

As others have said, "when you're ready". If it hurts then STOP. Find a position where it feels better or stop altogether and wait a day or two. If your partner absolutely needs attention then perhaps you would be willing to accommodate their relief in a "different" way then intercourse. I'll leave the details up to you.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
