Anyone Use Lortab Liquid For Post-Op Pain?

Recommended Posts

Yuch Yuch Yuch. I have generic Hydrocodone and I used it only the first two days. It tastes DISGUSTING. I also think it contributed to my nausea. I started using the liquid Tylenol, Cherry, and it tastes just as gross. I'd rather stick out the pain. I should go get some chewables... that would be easier I think. My antibiotic is not as bad... it's red and has to be refrigerated, CEFACLOR.

Most pharmacies can flavor liquids for a small fee. I know wal-greens does it for about $3. ~Mandy

It was nasty, but I found it very helpful on the days where I was in pain.

Pain is not your friend when you are healing from surgery. Don't let it get away from you, it's easier to control when you stay on top of it, rather than waiting until you are in agony.

They gave me 5 of the 16oz bottles with a refill for 5 more, but I didn't like the taste at alll. Seems like it is better in the fridge. I called the Dr. back and he put be back on the pill form of the 10mg. and I half it and it goes down fine. I just make sure and drink lots of Water after. I'm not taking them from the pain from surgery, I didnt need anything for that pain. I use them because of earlier 3rd degree burns, skin stretching, and disc removed in my neck last year and now spinal Fluid building up in my neck and another ruptured disc. They are my friends right now, I've tried percocet, darvocet, all of them and Loritab is the only one that works for me.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
